In 1952, my father Jim Cooper and my grandfather Bob C. Cooper laid the foundation for what would later become Midwest Bank, when they acquired Farmers National Bank in Pilger, NE. In the years since, Jim, my mother Lillian, my brother Bob, and now our kids have expanded Midwest Bank into the Nebraska communities of Creighton, Deshler, Lincoln, Norfolk, Pierce, Plainview, Wisner, and York. Along with attending to the needs of these communities in a banking capacity, the Cooper family has also striven to be a good employer, and a responsible corporate citizen who gives back to the communities it serves. In 1997, the Jim B. & Lillian F. Cooper Foundation was established to further this spirit of giving.
The Cooper Foundation currently has three vehicles used to support the communities Midwest Bank serves. They are the Jim B. & Lillian F. Cooper Foundation Grant (which is to provide assistance to non-profit organizations that embody our mission of health, education and recreation), the Jim B. & Lillian F. Cooper Foundation Scholarships and the Anne Cooper Memorial Scholarship. To apply, please fill out the appropriate application and submit by the corresponding date.
It’s an honor to give back to the communities we serve. Thank you for applying.
Sincerely,
Lu Schell
